OUR

MISSION

About Us

The First Responders Initiative is a faith-based ministry dedicated to providing ministry to Leon County's 1800+ local First Responders (including Law Enforcement, Fire Department, and EMT’s) and their families. While the national divorce rate remains at 50%, the divorce rate for First Responders averages between 60-75%. This is the highest percentage of any other community demographics, primarily because of the vocational stress associated with this critical area of public safety.

Within many of the training academies, married trainees are often cautioned that there is only a 25% probability that they will retire from their profession married to the same spouse. While this shocking statistic is widely known and accepted, there has not been anything in place to help these families and prevent this national crisis - particularly a program that is faith-based.

By providing confidential Pastoral Counseling, Relationship Coaching, Marriage Education, Premarital Counseling, and a safe place to vent and de-stress, the First Responders Initiative hopes to help keep these courageous families from becoming another statistic.
